    What’s in the Box?

    Aukey B60 unboxed
It’s a basic package with only 2 pairs of eartips.
    • Aukey Key Series B60
    • 2 pairs of silicone eartips (tips + wings combined)
    • USB-C charging cable (USB-C to USB-A)
    • Silicone carrying case
    • User manual

    Comfort & Fit

    Star Rating
    3.5 Almost Great

The magnetic earbuds are quite big since the battery packs are inside them, but they’re surprisingly lightweight.

One disappointing thing is the eartips selection. You only get 2 pairs of silicone tips and wings combined into 1 piece (small and medium sizes).

And, since they are proprietary, you can’t use any others if you wanted to.

You can’t use third-party memory foam eartips.

    Aukey B60 eartips with wings
Unique ear tips can’t be replaced with third-party tips.

Anyway, the feeling when you put them on is light and soft. You’re almost afraid they’ll fall out, but they rarely do.

The ear tips are shallow and don’t go deep into your ear canal.

Also, the sides are properly marked with “R” and “L” on the buds, so you know which way they fit.

All in all, Aukey B60 are comfortable wireless earbuds that you can wear for hours without discomfort, but they do feel a bit insecure.

    Noise Isolation

    Star Rating
    2.0 Acceptable

Passive noise isolation is less effective due to the shallow design of the eartips.

For this reason, you’ll hear more of the background noise, which makes these perfect for outside running or other outdoor activity. But also less suitable for working out when you want more privacy.

And, since you can’t use third-party ear tips adjusting the noise isolation isn’t really possible (unless you know how to make custom eartips for yourself).

Another consequence of below-average noise isolation is less prominent bass, but more on that under sound.

Also, cable noise isn’t problematic as it’s barely audible when the cable hits your skin.

    Bluetooth

    Star Rating
    4.0 Great

Even though these are affordable workout headphones they come with Bluetooth 5.0, which has stronger signal strength and slightly longer range.

Nonetheless, you get the standard range of about 30ft (10m). The connection works fine over 1 wall but starts distorting over 2 (but didn’t completely break in our test).

Unlike the B80, the B60 Bluetooth earbuds come with essential Bluetooth codecs, SBC and AAC (for iOS). There’s no aptX or LDAC support.

But in contrast, there’s no static, white noise present when connected.

You also can’t connect them to 2 Bluetooth devices at the same time, but you shouldn’t expect that as these are a cheaper model after all.

Find similar among the best cheap earbuds.

    Battery

    Star Rating
    3.5 Almost Great

The promise is up to 8 hours of music per full charge, and you actually get close to that.

Battery life is better than with the more expensive Aukey B80 or any true wireless earbuds, but both models should last for at least a couple of workouts.

    Aukey B60 magnetic earphones
Turning the magnetic earbuds on and off is effortless.

You can charge the sports earbuds through a USB-C port with the included charging cable (USB-A to USB-C).

As a result, they come with a Quick Charge ability that gives you over 1 hour of playtime with 10-minute charging.

To fully power them up takes about 1.5 hours and no more than 2, it’s satisfying performance.

    Durability

    Star Rating
    4.5 Almost Perfect

Contrary to what you might expect, the Aukey B60 are well built and hide their affordable price well.

The packaging is top-notch, looks better than with many over $100 earbuds.

Although the earphones are fully plastic with rubber-protected cable, they look nicely designed, and it shows they’ve put more effort into it.

To make sure you can take them to the gym they come with IPX6 rated, waterproof casing (waterproof >water resistant) that you can wash with water (if you want to).

Plus, you get a 2-year warranty in case they die on you unexpectedly.

    Features

    Star Rating
    3.5 Almost Great

The main feature that’s really unique and well incorporated is the magnetic power on/off function.

    • To power on the wireless in-ear headphones detach the magnets inside the buds.
    • Once you’re done listening and want to turn them off, attach the magnets. They will shut down automatically.

You might initially think this is annoying, but once you get used to it, you realize it’s a great addition. You’ll kind of miss it with other Bluetooth earbuds.

Aukey B60 remote control and mic
The remote buttons are easy to distinguish and use.

Of course, as is mandatory for the category, they come with an in-line mic and remote control with 3 buttons.

You can control the usual functions, including voice assistants (press and hold the multi-function/middle button for 2 seconds until you hear a tone).

Phone call quality is okay for a quiet place but harder to understand in noisier environments. Don’t expect to hold conferences with these. See best earbuds with microphone instead.

    Accessories

    Star Rating
    2.0 Acceptable

The list of accessories that come with the Aukey Key Series B60 is rather small.

    • 2 pairs of small and medium silicone eartips with wings
    • USB-C charging cable
    • A nice silicone carrying and protective case
    Aukey B60 in carrying case
Carrying case doesn’t have a zipper but gives solid protection.

    Sound

    Star Rating
    3.0 Good

Considering they come with 6mm single drivers and no special Bluetooth codec they sound rather good for the price.

But the one major shortfall is the absence of deep bass.

Due to shallow fit, they lack strong bass.

It’s almost impossible to get an airtight fit which is needed for powerful lows. For this reason, the audio quality comes out bass-light.

In case you’re a basshead, avoid these. See best bass earbuds instead.

Aukey B60 earbuds on red pillow
Lows are weakened by lesser noise isolation.

The treble is pretty clear and detailed for the price but can’t really compare to higher-end models.

But they’re suitable for watching videos, listening to audiobooks, and calmer music (lighter on bass).

Sibilance and harshness aren’t prominent even at higher volumes.

All in all, Aukey B60 are light on bass but otherwise sound satisfactory for the price.

If you’re looking for convenient wireless workout earbuds with good situational awareness and don’t care much for deep bass, then the Aukey Key Series B60 are a great choice.

With above-average Bluetooth and battery performance, special way to turn them on/off, waterproof design that stays put, and an affordable price they’re hard to beat.
