Meanwhile, Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 are marketed as purely audiophile earbuds. You also get active noise cancellation, which is suitable for premium true wireless in-ears. And, they can do many things Jabra’s can’t.

Of course, that doesn’t mean you should buy Sennheiser’s right now. There are still some differences that might change your mind before making your decision.

Comfort & Fit

Both offer the same comfort level for more extended periods, but Sennheiser might have a slight edge when it comes to the fit.

Both earbuds have an ergonomic design that fits nicely into your ear without creating any pressure points. None of them are using ear fins or hooks that would hold them in more securely. The ergonomics itself makes for a good fit.

Sure, you can still feel them in your ears as they bounce during walking. However, neither feel heavy, and you don’t experience fatigue, even after a long listening session.

Jabra Elite 75t might have a slight disadvantage since their fit loosens up a bit over time. It can happen more rapidly if you like singing along or smile. At first, you notice that the noise isolation is getting worse, upon which they feel like they’re about to fall out. At that point, they need a quick readjustment, and you’re good to go.

In contrast, this is something that doesn’t happen on Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2. They’re still bouncy, which might give you a feeling they’re getting loose, but they are still firmly in place in reality.

Overall, you can use both for running and working out. Sadly, none of the companies include foam tips, which would help improve stability.

Noise Isolation

Jabra Elite 75t have a deeper fit, providing better noise isolation. However, Momentum True Wireless 2 can actively eliminate the noise, which gives them an edge.

In-ear headphones are usually much better at passive noise isolation, thanks to their deep insertion. The deeper it goes, the better. That is why Jabra’s do a better job, creating a slightly better seal than Sennheiser’s. Of course, that doesn’t mean they go painfully deep.

Momentum are still pretty good in this category, but they have an ace up their sleeve: active noise cancellation. They’re offering similar performance as the other premium true wireless models, eliminating all low-end noises, while struggling slightly with higher frequencies. The latter is quite common in active noise-cancelling earbuds.

There is one feature both earbuds have: Sennheiser’s Transparent Hearing and Jabra’s HearThrough.

Their performance is quite similar, giving you an almost lifelike environmental sound as if you’re not wearing earbuds at all.

If you need a pair for cycling, it’s worth mentioning that you’re getting less wind noise from Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 compared to Jabra Elite 75t.

Bluetooth

You can expect a reliable connection from both, providing a standard Bluetooth 5.0 coverage. However, Jabras offer some extra features.

Elite 75t use Bluetooth version 5.0, and Momentum True Wireless 2 version 5.1. While there are small differences, you can’t really notice them in the real world. On paper, Sennheiser’s earbuds should have a slightly more reliable connection with better power efficiency. That is if you have a gadget that actually supports Bluetooth 5.1.

All in all, you get a reliable connection with no stutters on both. Audio starts breaking only when you try to pass the second brick wall, common in most truly wireless earbuds.

There is a noticeable delay when watching YouTube on both, but Jabra’s do a better job, even though they only support SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. Sennheiser adds aptX to their earbuds, but their lag is the worst.

If you want a lag-free experience on Momentum’s, you need to go in Developer Options (on Android) and manually change the Bluetooth codec to SBC. Thankfully, even if you don’t use aptX, the sound quality doesn’t change.

Sennheiser’s earbuds also lack multipoint support, which is something that Jabra has. You can connect them with 2 different devices to switch independently between them.

Battery

7 hours of battery life per charge on both ends, with slightly more juice left in Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 case.

If you don’t plan to use active noise cancellation very often, Sennheiser earbuds can offer the same battery life as Jabra 75t. That is 7 hours on a single charge, depending on the volume. When we tested Elite’s, we manage to get almost 7.5 hours, meaning they can sometimes last longer than advertised.

They do differ in battery life that is inside the charging case. 75t’s have around 20 hours of charge, whereas Momentum can give you 28 hours of extra playtime.

Both cases also quick charge their buds:

• Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 give you 1.5 hours of playback in 10 minutes.
• Jabra Elite 75t give 1 hour of battery life for a 10-minute charge.

To find out how much battery life is still in your earbuds, you need to look at your phone. Jabra show their percentage in the notification bar. For the Momentum 2s you have to open the mobile app.

Sadly, none of the two support Qi wireless charging.

Durability

Jabra Elite 75t are more robust but Momentum True Wireless 2 have a higher IP rating.

If you want earbuds that survive in almost any situation, Jabra’s are a safer choice. They feel much tougher, with an extra rubber sleeve that improves comfort and protects against drops.

That is not to say that Sennheiser’s feel cheap, because that is far from the truth. However, they’re still made entirely from plastic, which does feel hard, but it doesn’t give you the same level of confidence.

While you can’t submerge Momentum 2 since they only come with an IPX4 rating, they can still resist excessive sweat and light splashes of water. In contrast, Elite 75t don’t offer any protection, which might lead to damage if you use them for sports extensively.

Regardless, you can still use both for working out, running, or cycling. Just be careful when walking around water with Jabra’s.

Features

Each of them offers many features, with Sennheiser Momentum having a slight edge because of active noise cancellation.

The two wireless earbuds have a lot in common.

• Both of them have an option to automatically stop and resume the playback when you take one earbud out.
• They can amplify your surroundings for better awareness and offer a wide array of controls.
• Both have built-in controls. Jabra’s use physical buttons and Sennheiser touch-sensitive plate.
• Both come with mobile apps that control all the functions. You can change the sound with EQ on both, though Jabra have more options, with more frequency bands to play around with.
• You can customize commands for each earbud. That way, you can fully control the earbuds without touching your smartphone.

The cool thing about Jabra Elite 75t is that you can locate them inside the app if they get lost, which you can’t do with Sennheisers.

Of course, only Momentum True Wireless 2 have active noise cancelling, which is helpful if you commute regularly. They’re one of the best noise cancelling earbuds.

Jabras have only passive noise isolation. But noise reduction in microphones is better, especially when you introduce some ambient noise and want to have a phone call. Listen to the microphone tests to hear for yourself.

Sound

Jabra Elite 75t have a better low-end extension and engaging character, whereas Sennheiser’s sound much more refined and mature. Each of them are great for listening to more popular genres that demand good bass response.

Jabra Elite 75t will please most users who want to enjoy their bass. Default EQ leans strongly towards low-end emphasis, which makes them fun sounding, but also a bit muddy at times. See best bass earbuds for more options.

When the bass isn’t too prominent, the midrange and treble come through with good clarity. Thankfully there is no sibilance unless you crank up the volume. At that point, Jabra Elite 75t can become painful to listen to.

In contrast, Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 have a much more mature approach to their sound. While their bass is still elevated to accommodate genres like hip hop and pop, the midrange and treble are incredibly refined, packing tons of details, even to a point where you start noticing errors in recordings.

Regardless, their sound stays relatively smooth and non-fatiguing, albeit it can get a bit harsh with some female vocals. Boosted bass can sometimes lack control, especially when you’re listening to rock or metal genres where a precise punch is essential.

Thankfully, you can solve many of these problems with the equalizer inside the app, by tailoring the sound to your preferences.

However, the soundstage can’t be tweaked, with Jabra’s having a noticeably smaller stage compared to Sennheiser. It’s one of the first things you notice on Momentum earbuds, and it’s still impressive after weeks of listening.

Should You Buy Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 vs. Jabra Elite 75t?

Even though these two earbuds have a lot in common, they’re both unique in some ways. Each of them possesses specific features that might eventually change your final decision.

If you seek true wireless earbuds specifically for exercising and need uncompromised durability and funky sound that will get you going, Jabra Elite 75t are a superior choice. Features like multipoint support and unnoticable audio lag also make your life easier.

On the other hand, if you’re more concerned about sound quality and want to experience music to the fullest, go with Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2. They’re not perfect, but regarding audio experience, they are hard to beat (comparted to other true wireless earbuds).

There is also the price. Jabra’s are currently selling for around $160, while Sennheiser wants at least $300 for their buds. The $140 difference might be a big enough reason to lean toward Jabra Elite. But, if you can get the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 on sale, they’re worthy of consideration.
